included scenes from
Twelfth Night, Richard II, Richard III, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and
The Tempest
Time:
Not-too-distant-future.
History seems to be repeating itself. The Bird Flu is spreading rapidly,
and the threat of closing down public places (including the theater)
is eminent. Perhaps the actors in our Shakespearean production will
be forced to perform in the street if the theaters are closed just as
they were for the plague in Shakespeare’s day. Perhaps the children’s
game “Ring-Around-the-Rosie” will continue its eerie hidden
meaning…..
