Edison IB Theatre students studied Shakespeare's
Taming of the Shrew
in 2007

In December 2007, the IB Theater students participated in The Shakespeare Theatre's program Text Alive! to study Taming of the Shrew. Through in-school workshops and an in-depth rehearsal/performance process, Edison students worked with other Text Alive! participants from area schools to perform the play onstage at The Shakespeare Theatre and they attended a performance of the play.

Taming of the Shrew Act 2.1 The famous Katherine and Petruchio meeting scene.
The students set the scene in at Baptista's Dance Party. The changing moods throughout the scene were depicted by the different dance styles such as a cotillion, tango, a tap dance, and even a DDR match.

See photos from the inital concept brainstorming session all the way to the performance at The Shakespeare Theatre's Harman Center.
