Tadashi Suzuki Method Resources

Japanese Performing Arts Resource Center-- this is the official site of Suzuki's center. Very useful in deciphering how a production using the Suzuki method would actually occur.

Marcos Martinez's article on a Suzuki Method Workshop-- An explanation of the method is given.

Siti: Suzuki Method-- The Siti website gives an in-depth definition of the Suzuki Method.

Theater of Russia-- this barebones site explains the relevance and importance of Tadashi Suzuki. It also explains what the Suzuki method is and how to utilize it and apply it to a piece of theater.

Chinese Opera

The Art of Chinese Opera-- this website gives an explanation to where the ideas for Peking Opera costumes derived. It explains how they relate to Chinese culture in general.

Beijing Opera-- this site has detailed pictures and descriptions of Peking Opera costumes. It discusses the use of color and also gives some general information about Peking Opera

Folk Arts- Peking Opera-- this site explains symbolism used in the costuming of Peking Opera. It also gives descriptions of various costume pieces as well as pictures.

Introduction of Peking (Bejing) Opera-- this website gives a very thorough description of the history of Peking Opera, which will help me to better understand why the costumes are designed as such. There is also a section to the site dedicated to costumes and color symbolism. FYI: The font is hard to read.

Peking Opera-- This site gives an overview of Peking Opera. It briefly discusses the materials used in the costumes for the form of theater and how the costumes are meant to be provided.

Peking Opera-- Includes detailed description of types of Peking Opera characters. Each of these types of characters need to be perceived in a certain way through costumes and this site helps clarify possible ways to do so.

Peking Opera Masks- Many helpful pictures and explanations

Costumes of Peking Opera-- This site gives an overview of various aspects of Peking Opera costuming from head to toe. The site mostly gives details on the footwear.

Peking Opera Costumes- provides cultural background information
